Antivir 64 clings to everything! This is not good news for you or your computer. With Internet downloading so easy and commonplace with our WWW addictions, scams are becoming more prevalent. Antivir 64 is just another scam. Disguised as a helping software program, it will claim to scan and remove malware (malicious software). Unfortunately, this program will only download malware onto your computer.
We are all careful to not fall for phone scams and we shred our confidential documents, but we need to be focused on our most precious investment'our computers! We spend too much money to have our computers in trouble from downloads off the Internet. Plus, our identities are easy to steal these days with the Internet allowing us to input some very personal information on a daily basis.
Antivir 64 will download itself onto your computer by attaching to another program. Commonly found in video codecs, which are programs that you will need in order to watch videos on the Internet, malware will often be attached to these downloads without your knowledge. So, when you download these programs, you may get Antivir 64 for free! This is not a good thing, however, because once you have the infection on your computer, you will be alerted constantly with bogus security warnings.
Not only will your computer slow from these fake security warnings, but this program also has the ability to steal your personal information. Whether it is saved on your desktop or you type it into your computer, this program can log your credit card information and other profitable bits of your information. Also, these security warnings will scare you into buying their full version of software. The warnings will use descriptive language to lure you into wanting to remove the "dangerous" files listed in Antivir 64's findings, but the program is making up these problem files just to make money off of you. Just say no!
If you say yes, it won't do anything more than take money from your pocket. Even if you don't buy the full program, you have the malware either way.
Now that you understand what has happened, you need to make sure you can get rid of the program. Most of the time you can simply click the "uninstall" icon, but Antivir 64 isn't genuine software and will stay as long as it can. This being said, you can try to go through and delete the files one by one, but this typically does not work out. Antivir 64 and other rogue anti-spyware programs use Trojan horses in order to stick around. Trojan horses use temporary and hidden files to mask their intentions. So, you may think some files are useful or necessary for your hard drive to operate, but they may actually be Antivir 64 in disguise.
Because all of this is true, you need to research a reliable company that can remove the malware for you. If you caught malware in the first place, you didn't do too well downloading just anything from the Internet, and you know you need to pick a reputable company that has some great guarantees and recommendations.
